Postdoctorial research associate professor Jocelyn Read will be the speaker at the second Science Cafe of the semester on Tuesday, November 15 from 6:00pm- 7:00pm at Lusa Pastry Cafe. The title of her 30 minute lecture is: “The Intense Life of Stars After Death,” with time afterward for questions.
The atmosphere is causal, and all are welcome to the free lecture, sponsored by the physics and astronomy department, and office of the provost. Dr. Read will explore questions such as: How does a star die? What happens to its “remains?” and What is a neutron star and black hole?
